Bridges are restorations that are supported by healthy teeth to replace a tooth that is missing. Like a dental crown, each end of the bridge fits over the support tooth. Fused between the two is a false crown. The color, shape and design of the bridge is made to resemble the teeth around it, minimizing the impact on your smile’s function and appearance.

Am I a Good Candidate for Them?

A bridge is an ideal restoration for people with one or two missing teeth – that is, when a healthy tooth is present on either side. Without healthy support teeth, a bridge cannot be anchored into place. However, a bridge can also be supported by dental implants to replace up to 3 or 4 teeth at a time.

Your Treatment

Female dental patient happy that Proper maintenance around her crown can help the restoration last for several yearsMost bridge procedures require two visits to complete. During your first appointment to our Greenville office, Dr. Goldston will prep the support teeth and take an impression. We use this impression to create a customized bridge that is available to place in a couple of weeks. At the second visit we will try the bridge in, make any adjustments necessary, and bond it permanently into place.

Proper maintenance around your crown can help the restoration last for several years. This includes flossing around the bridge at least once a day. We will be happy to show you how easy cleaning your bridge can be!
