New Patients: Your First Appointment

Your first visit with us is important. We take the time to get to know you and understand your personal vision for your smile.

receptionist on the phone with a new patientThere is no major agenda or pressure to have you get something done that you’re not comfortable with. Rather, we take this time to thoroughly assess your oral health and bite, take any necessary x-rays, and review our findings with you.

If you need a cleaning we may also complete one at that time as well. Should you need to have any treatment, we will discuss your options with you in a way that is easy to understand. Once we’re finished, we will set up a time for you to come back for your next cleaning to maintain the best dental health possible.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do you offer sedation dentistry?
Yes! Dr. Goldston is a trained and experienced sedation dentist. We offer both conscious oral sedation as well as nitrous oxide sedation in our Greenville office.
  • How long have you been practicing dentistry?
Dr. Goldston has been practicing dentistry since 2008. She and her husband relocated often due to his service in the US Navy, but they returned to South Carolina to settle down and for Dr. Goldston to open her own dental practice.
  • Are you a pediatric dentist?
No. We are a general family dental provider. However, Dr. Goldston has worked several years in pediatric dental offices, providing expanded dental services to young children and patients with special needs.
  • How do I know if I need to have a dental crown?
Crowns are necessary for restoring teeth with large fractures, cavities, or root canals. Instead of repairing a small segment of the tooth like we do with fillings, crowns will cover the entire tooth above the gums. This protects the tooth from breaking down further. An exam and x-ray is all that we need to decide whether or not a crown is necessary for your tooth.
  • Do I need my wisdom teeth extracted?
Wisdom teeth may need to be removed due to chronic pain, infection, or damage to adjacent teeth. In some cases we will recommend taking the 3rd molars out before problems start. We will take a panoramic x-ray to assess the wisdom tooth and the area around it before making a decision.
  • What are dental implants?
Dental implants are artificial replacement teeth that are anchored into your bone like a real tooth. They can function as stand-alone new teeth, or to support restorations like bridges and dentures.
  • Can I get a smile makeover at your Greenville office?
Absolutely. We offer many cosmetic dental treatment options like veneers, whitening and composite bonding. Your smile makeover can be whatever you want it to be!
